So another cool new thing we’re hoping to do tonight is to run a live Twitter stream projected on the big screen. To join in, simply tweet with the hashtag #budgetforum.

Budget Forum Tonight!
Posted by Chris Given on Wednesday, September 16th, 2009
Sent via email:
Hey all,
With my spirits recently buoyed by the discovery at dinner tonight that at least some of you read these emails, I’m writing to tell you about a semesterly Bard tradition that’ll come once again tomorrow night [tonight]. This is, of course, Budget Forum, only this time it’ll be like no other Budget Forum you’ve ever seen before.
This year, Budget Forum will take place on the lawn across from Ludlow at 7:00 PM. Yeah, we’re taking the act outside. Come and see this old tradition get a shiny new suit. Also come for cotton candy, sno-cones, and popcorn.
Come early for Club Fair, where every Bard club will be exhibiting their ‘thing’ whatever that may be. There’ll be singing, dancing, and unclassifiable displays of Bard creativity. And enjoy an outdoor dinner graciously provided by Chartwells.
If it rains, we’ll be in Kline, but I have our best shamans working on preventing that one.
See you there!

So all the pain and suffering has paid off, because I now can give you a link to the complete budget. I’ll see everyone at Budget Forum.

The allocation process is going swimmingly. Can we raise the student activities fee yet?
Budgets, Redux

So long-time readers (hey, you two) will remember a piece of doom and gloom I composed sometime in August or thereabouts titled simply ‘Debt.’ Well there’s been some better news since then, and it is the subject of an article I have in the latest edition of the Free Press (the release party is tomorrow night at SMOG).
The figures have been revised downwards since I composed the piece, but we’re still in the black. For the time being, anyway.
Remember to sign up for Budget Defense on the sheet on the Student Activities’ office door. Click ‘Read More’ to, well, you know.
Meet Your New Representatives

So for those of you who have had your fingers eagerly quivering in anticipation of the beginning of the semester elections this week, I have some bad news. Because we only had as many candidates as there were open posts, everyone was elected unopposed. Fortunately, each and every one of the candidates was excellent and deserving, and I look forward to working with them all.
If, however, you feel like you’ve been denied the exercise of your democratic rights, I hope you’ll consider being a challenger yourself in an upcoming election in order to avoid this unfortunate outcome.
