Congratulations to Club Heads on going through the budget process. Now its time to move on to the next step- Getting members to join your club! Tomorrow, September 18, 2013 will be Club Fair which will be held outside Kline on the walkway starting at 6 PM followed by Budget Forum at 8 PM on Ludlow Lawn. Now as a new club head, you might be wondering what Club Fair is all about. Well its a great way to showcase some things your club will do and get other Bard students who are interested in joining to sign up. First you need to go secure half of a table outside Kline. Then once you have done that the rest is pretty straight forward. So say you are the Dance Club, you might want to get speakers and demonstrate the type of dance you will do. Or if you are the Red-Yellow-Upside-Down-Flying-Candy-Makers (totally made that one up!!!!!) you might want to let others know exactly what it is that you do or plan on doing. If you are a returning club head you might want to show some posters or pictures showing activities you have done in the past. Then of course you should have a sign up sheet!
At 8PM move on over to Ludlow for Budget Forum where Club Heads will have the opportunity to get more money for their clubs (some find very interesting ways to ask for money which has been very interesting in the past). Budget Forum also gives you the opportunity to get involved in Student Government and Campus Life.Then start planning your events!!! After this fun-filled day of getting interested members and attending Budget Forum, you should come in to SPARC (once you decide when your meetings will be ) to reserve a space to have said meetings/ events, and to place them on the SPARC calendar (this will help FISC Comm check if you have been meeting/ hosting events throughout the semester and may help you get a better budget next semester). Once you start spending your budget come into SPARC for help with purchase orders, check requests and reimbursements.
