The Student Judiciary Board (SJB) is the judicial branch of the Student Government and it hears alleged violations of social and residence-hall regulations by students. The SJB is composed of one student chair, four students who are full members, one student who is an alternate, one staff member, one faculty member, one administrator, and the Dean of Students. The SJB does not hear cases regarding sexual discrimination or misconduct, nor does it hear cases involving racial or ethnic discrimination. Such violations are dealt with in accordance to the Harassment and Discrimination Policy available on p.221 of the Student Handbook. Any member of the Bard community, including students, faculty, administration, and staff, may file a complaint against a student. Alleged violations are typically drawn from either the Residence Hall Agreement that all on-campus students sign, or from the Community Standards of Behavior to which all students are expected to adhere. Both of these guidelines are available for review in the Student Handbook.7
