Wild Roots Wellness Collective

Overview of Wild Roots Wellness Collective

We are a collective that focuses on self-care, wellness, holistic health care for body-mind-spirit-emotion and soul all equally considered, herbal medicine, earth based skills, intersectionality of our diverse rich backgrounds, connecting to land and place, aligning with the seasonal and cosmic flow of everything, ancestral remembrance, dream working, mysticism, ritual, magic, community gathering, circling up to honor life, each other, and more! We are a web that includes many projects woven together for the same ends. We run a student organized herbal apothecary project that supplies loose herbs for tea, some simple tinctures, syrups, balms and more for the community members who participate in the collective in some form or organize a trade or donation based exchange for our efforts so we can continue to sustainably do all the work we put forth. We are also in the midst of proposing the building of a Wellness Center on campus - "The Wild Roots Wellness Center/Collective," because there is a great need for a space on campus where Bard and surrounding community members can have access to resources that support their own true holistic health and wellness. It will be a space for workshops, holistic practitioner use, meditation, the apothecary, a medicinal herb garden, outdoor community space, and more. We are also in the midst of starting an at-risk native medicinal plants sanctuary following guidelines put forth by the United Plant Savers. We have also more recently enveloped the community garden into our web of care and have parallel wings of flight with The Health and Wellness Education Program here at Bard, Peer Health, Harvesting Justice, The Difference and Media Project, BardEATS, and the Bard Farm. Join us in loving ourselves, each other, and the Mama Earth beneath our dancing feet.
