Colored Womxn United

Overview of Colored Womxn United

Colored Womxn United (CWU) seeks to provide an inclusive environment for members to exchange personal and collective experiences that occur on and off Bard’s campus. We seek to raise awareness on issues of race, gender, and sexuality surrounding the positions of women from diverse backgrounds. Considering the changes in society, CWU hopes to navigate its members through these specific issues by facilitating conversations that further elaborate society’s perception of women and how these perceptions impact their place within it. On Bard’s campus, the main goal of CWU is to create a space for self and collective reflection and growth in a community with like-minded peers. We will offer leadership workshops and provide members with the skills necessary to recognize, reflect and respond to the various oppressions they may face at Bard and society.
