Overview of Biodiesel Cooperative
The Bard Biodiesel Cooperative was started as a TLS project as a way to raise awareness about biodiesel as well as produce it. It is based out of a shed on Bard Campus, which the TLS office paid for. The cooperative would be open to all Bard students and staff. Ideally, anyone with a diesel car on Bard campus will eventually be able to get free biodiesel gas in exchange for some of their time and a small fee. Until we reach that point, we will need some funding for chemicals. The TLS fund for our project has been completely exhausted, but the shed is set up and we are currently running our second batch of successful biodiesel. A social club would be a great way to spread knowledge and attract other people to the possibilities and realities of alternative energy.
