SUPPORT BARD CAVALIERS
Bard Cavaliers, although an organized campus club and a successful IHSA show team, is not funded by Bard College. Because of tight resources, Athletics is unable to fully fund our show team and the club convocations fund is unable to fund our student and club activities. As unfair as this may seem, it is the reality we must deal with. In an effort to fund ourselves, we run several programs. These include accepting donations of tack, apparel, trailers and equipment (and in special cases equines themselves). The items that the club/team does not need will be resold on our website (on this page) and during out October Schooling Show to raise funds for the club. We use this money to pay for our coaching and entry fees as well as our campus activities like pony rides during Spring Fling, and our side projects (like horse rescue). The profits from the October Schooling Show will also benefit the team/club.
If you have items to donate, please let us know by e-mailing us at cavalier@bard.edu! You will receive a tax deduction in for the value of the items for donating to a non-profit (Bard College). If you are within a 1.5 hr radius from Bard College (zip code 12504), a member of the club can pick up your donation. Otherwise, it will need to be shipped at your expense.
