Our Efforts

Every Friday, Bard College Volunteers Travel to the city of hudson and meet middle school students at the hudson Area Library. There we have students write in their respective journals for a given period of time then help with any homework that the students may have. In many cases we also go through a series of activities created to get students to begin thinking about and working on necessary life skills.

We also understand that many students in the Hudson community may not have a large amount of experience outside of Hudson, so we offer various field trips not only to Bard College, but also to museums in New York State.

The Building Up Hudson Program also raises money at Bard college, Kingston, and the Hudson area for a Building Up Scholarship which is annually offered to a Hudson High School junior or senior essay contest winner pursuing post-secondary education.
