time in perspective:
two clocks separated by a window.

stranger, so little about everything.
I endured or fondled.

it wasn't anything really. standing first then sitting.
easier on the head without esteeming oneself
in the presence of another person. an unlikable, no doubt.

thoughts about turning around. no difference really.
front or back. still smells the same.
gestures unaware of the need for balance.
are you symmetrical we wonder.

one thought or stick. that's all there's time for.
silly actually. a shoe no sock no doubt.
still functioning after all these months.

the boy at the register
rang up the groceries, said "it's been a long day"
which meant it's always a long day
checking out what people eat.

if he's caught outside the bar
he will drop and fake seizure.

***

tired of reading: never taking the place of those downstairs.
all the voices in my own voice. hate that.
going down is never to say or answer.
such they might ask: what brings you down.
and who could I say but smile
and get a glass of soda.
